Back to School!

Soli and I are officially back to school. Soli's first day was August 27th and she loved it! She took her teacher a beta fish named Simba as a gift. It was a big hit. Her teacher reported that she was a great student who was perfectly quiet at circle time! Soli quiet??? I'll give it a week or two! She really missed her friends over the summer and was excited to get back in her routine.

We're back!

After a long hiatus, we are back with lots to report! We've been to world famous Holiday Acres and swam with the snapping alligator turtles, water skied, and got very tan. We've also been getting ready for Mama Taschi to go back to work and Soli to start her second year at Athena Montessori. See the H-Acres Pix

All the while, our little J-Girl has been steadily growing, getting chunkier and working on the perfect baby smile! And in the frenzy of Michael Phelps Gold medals we are here to update this blog for your viewing pleasure. More cute pix

America's Birthday!

We had a wonderful Fourth of July celebration. We started off with a neighborhood parade and mini carnival. As we were driving there we told Soli that we were celebrating the 4th of July. She of course responded with "why?" so I explained it was America's birthday. When we arrived at the parade/carnival it must have looked just like a typical birthday party with balloons and lots of kids. Soli got real excited and said- "I can't wait to play with America she will be so excited that I am bringing my baby sister to her party!"

Later in the day we bought Soli a few firecrackers and then went over to a friends house to light them off. At first she was a little scared but then she got the hang of it and was having a blast! It was so fun to see the holiday through her eyes!

Daddy!

We are so happy that Tony is home from work! It has been great having both of us home as we transition into parenting two children. He has been a big help with Soli. She is doing great adjusting to being a big sister and is spending less time in her "Thinking Chair" aka time out. We are happy to have Daddy for most of July!

Happy B-day Mama Mama

We were sad to see Marge go, she was such a great help! We celebrated her b-day before she left. Soli decorated the table and insisted everyone wore a birthday hat even Juliana. She also helped me make a delicious strawberry pie. Happy 59th Mama Mama!

Father's Day

Tony had an extra special Father's Day with his two daughters. Guille, Maria Marta and Reni came down and we celebrated by barbecuing up some steaks. Reni and Soli had fun making a cake and attempting to decorate it. Although, their decorating skills were not up to par with Julie- the cake still tasted yummy!

Fun with Soli

Marge has been a big help keeping Soli busy! She has taken her on many play dates with her school friends. They have been enjoying the outings in the pleasant Austin climate! (100+degrees). They have gone to an Art in the Park day, Whole Food's Floral Department, Barnes and Noble, and the Children's Museum. Soli is having a great time with her Mama Mama.
